Featured Event
The Seventh Built Environment Conference will be held in Cape Town from 28-30 July - 2013. The ASOCSA Built Environment conference series has become the leading built environment conference on the African continent.
Since its inception in 2006 the peer reviewed conference proceedings have been referred to by private and public sector policy and decision makers. The series is fully accredited by the South African Department of Higher Education and produces a conference edition of the sought after Journal of Construction, which is also accredited by the South African Department of Higher Education.
The series has been underwritten by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), Council for the Built Environment (CBE), Master Builders South Africa (MBSA) and many major industry stakeholders. It has been endorsed by the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB), one of the largest global built environment research organizations.

Invite you to a series of workshops on teaching construction studios
Presented by: International Presenter: Prof. Christopher Monson (U.S.A.)
Christopher Monson, RA, is associate professor of Building Construction Science in the College of Architecture, Art, and Design at Mississippi State University. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Architecture with Distinction from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He has taught design and construction studios, building detailing and assemblages, and architectural theory, and has been recognized institutionally and nationally for teaching. His research is focused on studio-based learning, design thinking, and contemporary AEC integrated practice. He is a licensed architect, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional, and holds the Associate Design- Building Institute of America (DBIA) credential.
